Feeling good... not good enough

I was fired up to go running tonight. My hip flexor pain is gone. So I head out the door looking to run 6 miles slowly. I got about 3 blocks away and decided I'd better give it another day or two. It didn't hurt but it wasn't "right" either. Maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to give up, but I figure I can do just as well with a bike workout.

Shawn it's great to see you filling up the spreadsheet with workouts. You might want to start adding a short run right after these rides you are taking. Is your training partner doing Tris? Or bike only?

I intend to start doing bricks next week. I'm still working a little this week, so I am not quite as free as I will be next. My training partner, as I am calling him, is really mostly a runner. He does lots of 5K's and 10K's and did a half marathon last November, but he is also an avid biker, not to mention a pretty formidable swimmer too (he was a distance swimmer in college). I think he is 49, so for his age group, he would probably do pretty well in most triathlons, and he has done a few, but I haven't convinced him to come with me yet. Maybe I'll get him to Morgantown. The problem with bricking with him is he can run faster than me by a fair bit, while we are more evenly matched on the bike. I had to pick up the kids today after the ride, so I couldn't run, but on Saturday I did run a little after the killer hill ride to see what that felt like. I'm thinking I will live in the tri, but like I said in April, everything is changing in May. I will be more ready than ever by June.

Injury free, Injury free.

I am just trying to give you some good vibes to do what it takes to stay healthy. Sounds like you have a good plan.

I also applaud Shawn on the training. Starting to get bike heavy, but if I had a good mate to ride with, I would be there, too.

As you know, I'm one to err on the side of caution. Who wants to be injured?
It's going to work itself out. It just feels like it's trying to adjust for being in the right place now. It is crazy how everything adjusts/compensates for misalignments of all sorts.

I put in a good effort on the trainer last night. It certainly wouldn't have been a good race. I burned myself out in about 45 minutes. I was trying to push higher power as long as possible.
I didn't download the workout yet. I'm guessing the power drop will be significant, I really had to dig to make myself finish out the hour.
