Bassman Bike Graph

From a number of weeks ago a guess at my Bike HR Zones.
Zone 1: 137 or less
Zone 2: 137-150
Zone 3: 151-156
Zone 4: 157-167
Zone 5A: 168-171
After putting this list together. Climbing Devil's Hill in NH my HR hit 178. I was out of saddle climbing, that is my highest HR on my bike so far. As I get more ride time in, I'll be able to adjust these if needed.

Altitude is interesting. This event took place below sea level? I have no reference point below 1,000 ft above sea level. You strange people who risk their lives living next to the ocean. Don't you know that part of Africa is ready to fall into the ocean creating the big one? YOUR CRAZY!

Did you have an altitude chart for the Mooseman?

As always fun to look at. It appears your heart rate started to shift higher at the end, but I think your cadence was consistently higher, potentially a little more up hill. I bet our heart rates will be way up going up devil's hill being only 5 or so miles after the swim. I see your heart rate went down from the start to about mile 17, then back up.

I think one thing is the Mooseman is pretty level going into the run, so our HR's should be down to help start the run. Doesn't look like you had that advantage here.

You can turn on elevation on the google maps pedometer Mooseman map. It's on the left side of the page. Elevation small large.
Then you can scroll Left/right through the course and see what it's all about.

I didn't calibrate my watch altitude before the race. It was low on the list of things I was thinking about, obviously. I need to take care of these things the day before.

HR was way up from the swim, Which I suppose means I'm not as relaxed as I should be swimming. Thus the decrease at the beginning of the bike.
Reading other race reports, I can safely say at mile 17 we were going into a headwind.
At the end of the bike some guy went past and yelled "Drive it home" or something like that. I pushed into a tougher gear and that is what you are seeing at the end with the lower cadence / higher speed. Then the HR got high enough that I decided I'd better not get too crazy. There is still a run to do.

Now that I've got my wetsuit, I'm not so concerned about the big one. I'll just body surf my way to the Poconos :-)
