Fall Tri-fest

I keep forgetting to mention this. This fall there are 2 triathlons in 2 days both about 25 minutes from my house. Could this be enough to get Craig out here for the weekend? How about Jim?

I'm not suggesting we race both of them. How about race one of them and relay the other?

The events
The Buckman on Sat Sept 12th
Skylands Triathlon on Sun Sept 13th

I volunteer not to do the bike at Skylands.

Not sure why you singled out the Skylands unless you know the hill in both. It sounds like the Buckman is not flat.

Neither course is flat, but there are 3 consecutive KILLER inclines in Skylands. I raced it as a relay with Maija last year. Whew! I wasn't sure if I wanted to break down in tears or shout curse words on the hills. That being said....I'm just dumb enough to do the relay bike for Skylands again. It would be a good measure to mark what I hope to be my improvement.

It could be a fun weekend of pain!

time will tell. Running and biking right now, several days a week, but no swimming. I hate that medium.

In addition, I have a little impingment in my left shoulder that will not go away (racquetball issue). I suppose some rehab to the rotators would be helpful (in my case the supraspinatus). It's hard to believe such a small muscle can cause so much grief.

On a positive note, the bike is riding well after a professional fit. However, I currently don't even ride my motorcycle 30 or 50 miles at a pop! So about 15 miles on the pedal is my enthusiasm limit.

Do you have a sprint triathlon with 1/4 mile swim? I think Genine's constant doggy paddle ws probably faster than my "all out" front crawl. I'm going to say I have too much lean mass (that's a lie, but we'll say it anyway!)
