Aahh....nuts!


This was on the back of our receipt from Wegman's tonight. Of course I thought of you Shawn. Just say no to nachos and show the pistachios some love. :-) www.pistachiohealth.com

Are we talking just chips when we talk nachos, or are we talking full Monty cheese, chilly etc.?

Maybe you should top the nachos with pistachios, if you have to have the nachos?

The nachos in question are not the worst thing in the world. Typically, all it is is a plate of Tostitos tortilla chips with some sharp cheddar and maybe a bit of mozz on top, melted in the microwave for about 70 seconds, then used to scoop very healthy salsa.

The problem is that it is never calorically necessary to eat these. They are always an extra snack after I've already met my daily caloric needs. They are also not very volumetric, and of course very salty. Cheese is notoriously calorically dense, and the chips are oily, making for a heck of a one-two punch. Then the salt makes you take on water, adding insult to fat cells.

But they are so delicious.
