Time to talk Tango

July 5th is the cutoff date for the cheap registration and our sponsor would like to register us for the cheaper price. I'm fairly certain we could submit as a relay team and adjust people on that team as we go. Should I just give them a team of Craig and myself?

If we have multiple teams. We need multiple support teams and canoes. How are we set for this?
Do we have access to a massage therapist for me after the half marathon? Is that legal? Ha ha.

Genine is also interested in racing. Mostly she would like to bike but she is hoping to improve her running as well. Some of our friends here are considering joining her but we don't have any commitments from them yet. If you know of anyone that might want to join with Genine, let us know.

I'll leave it up to Craig to go through our individual stats and review last year's results to see if any combination of our abilities puts us on the podium.

Sign us up! or at least one team. I don't have problem if Shawn and Jim are signing up to, do that. We are good, with the concept.

No insult to Casey, but if Jim is running the half Marathon, we are closer to the podium.

Just looked at the results for relay. Top 3 relay teams finished in 7:43. One was a High School team. 7:56 was 4th.

I'm not sure I can find the right math to get us below 8 hours.

Seems unlikely unless we call in some ringers in every event. None of us is that good at anything (that we do in this race). We are all sort of durable Renaissance men, if you ask me. Jim in the run was a good option, prior to his drying out, but now we have to see if he's ready to give it a shot again. I mean if Maija is willing to join us, we might have something. Heck, Maija, Esther and Armando should form a team and kill us all.

I wasn't expecting to make the podium, and my goal is to simply do more than last year. I think I've said this before, but I think both of our teams could be faster than our combined team last year. I need to hear from Jim so I know whether I need to try to sucker some other poor sap into doing this with me. What's the word, Jim? Finding someone willing to pay to torture themselves isn't easy, you know.

Crushing my podium dreams... ha ha.
This race is all about having fun. Getting to hang out with everyone in the transitions T1-T5. Then a nice BBQ and some croquet after all that. Can't beat it!
Oh wait I can! I don't have to drive back to NJ for another week!
I'll get to golf, bike, swim, eat wings down at the Cornerstone, maybe go up to the casino. Then get all fancied up for the wedding!

The Warren crowd is going to be sick of me by the end of the week ;-)

I've put in a rough few weeks aftering "drying out" and lingering effects including ear infections that kept me inside all last weekend!! A father's day without golfing was "in the rough"!! I'm not supposed to run yet, bet may try to see how I'm feeling by the end of the week. I'd love to be part of a team, but don't want to pull anyone (or team) down.

Not sure where I'll be in another month. This recent experience of multiple issues has really ,...really zapped my mental toughness.

That said, I'm pretty confident at any given time that I'm back to running that I could run the half in 8 min pace or better and a shorter run at or under 7min pace.

In a good case scenario ( not confident of that at this point since I feel wimpy), I've run the 1/2 in 1:30:00 in the last 12 months, 20 miles at 8min/mile and 5 miles at 6:20.

Really, I need to get my head back on straight instead of the alien that has possessed me since dropping out of Delaware. I think I'm probably still in decent shape just not sure.

From the weight side of things, I dropped 8 pounds while on the anti-biotic this weekend!!! Could it possibly be all fat,......in my dreams!!

8 pounds!!! Are you sure you weren't taking Craig's "Cleanse Pills"?
I'm looking to lose about that much before the Tango. If you have any of those pills left....

Seriously, I'm sure we can work something out to fit you into a team at whatever level you would want to be involved. Just keep us posted.
And if you can't Tango, I hope you will be ready to golf. I'll be pretty awful but I was never very good anyway even when I played a couple times a week.
And if you can't Golf... Guitar Hero!!

Jim, if you can run a Half in 90 minutes, you will not be dragging me down. If you can run the half in 2 hours, you won't be dragging me down. Get your head in the game! You are tough, and fast, and knowledgeable. All you have to do is beat the cut-off time and I will be ecstatic. Don't worry, I'll catch everyone in the swim when they get a load of my new swimming apparatus!
