It's too quiet....

Leading into a race weekend, it's too quiet here. I'm starting to think Shawn must be following Craig's lead of "Secret Training". :-)

I don't want to jinx myself, but I don't plan on going to a chiropractor this week. Maybe I that's breaking part of my pre-race routine? I guess I will find out.
I ran 4 miles last night and felt pretty good about it. The lower humidity probably had something to do with the comfort level of the run. Tonight is masters swimming, I just need to make sure I don't cramp up. Sadly I can feel the effects of those leg cramps for about 3 days.

Genine and I will drive to Morgantown on Saturday morning and plan on being there early afternoon.

I'm getting excited. This being Craig's "hometown" race, I feel that he's going to have the advantage going into this one. Then of course Shawn has now figured out all his problems and has been a workout machine the last week or so.

So our challenge is this: All three of us improve all 3 splits compared to our Mooseman Results. (wish me luck on my run split).

Wahoo!

My posts have been few and far between lately, but I thought I would chime in and make some noise. Best of luck to everyone this weekend! Personal bests for all!

Tara and I will be in Warren for the July 4th and 20-year reunion festivities. We are looking forward to catching up with those who will be around.

Unfortunately, I will be wrapping up final exams for the summer the week of August 4, and taking off for the beach the following weekend, so we will not be present for either the Tango or Michelle and Jerry's wedding.

I have been trying to keep a routine with the elliptical and free weights in the basement, so I don't look and feel like a complete blob. The shoulder is coming along slowly but surely, but the knee still protests when I try to run. I really miss running, so I hope to work through that issue this year.

I have been quiet, no secret training. Just plain old stuff, trying to fit in what I can.

Two things have kept me silent. Safety Audit at work and the Safety department had vacation planned. Fun stuff.

Second thing was Levi's baseball tournament. They kept winning so we had a game every night this week, including Sunday.

The news is that they won the Championship game last night. 10-4. Levi got a hit and scored a run in the 4th. Which set off a total of five runs.

The night before he hit in the run to win the big rival game versus Barrackville. This game ended up 4-2 and was gut wrenching to watch. Both teams played their hearts out.

Casey, I'm hoping to catch up with a Physical Therapist to work on building up my legs the right way so I don't mess with my knee again.
I'll pass along what they suggest.
Maybe Jim already has a list of what we should be working on?

Go Levi!
Have you taught him how to do a Pete Rose slide yet? He can't be the hit king and not know how slide like the hit king. :-)

He is not into sliding. I have decided he believes since he is the runner he deserves the base. I believe unintentionally he has caused the other teams first baseman or second baseman to drop the ball. He runs like a diesel engine, one speed but you wouldn't want to try to stop it. The baseman get happy feet or nervous glove. Either way it increases his on base %.

The hitting has come along. I think he has hit over 500 since vacation. He didn't work into the top of lineup, but he did get himself into the middle and had some key hits late.

I think they said our lead off hitter was close to .800, of course it is hard to define an error in this league. 7-9 yrs old, any hit ball has home run potential.

Just show him this picture.
Doesn't get any better than this.

I have been secretly training. I think my run is down to 6:30 a mile now. I bought the carbon Trek and since learning how to swim, 1:20 hundreds are pretty easy to come by. I might move into the elite Clydesdale category this week. You should all probably wear shaded goggles and sunglasses so you don't go blind from the awesomeness you will be witness to this weekend.

Shawn, Shawn...wake up!

Oh, dang. It was a dream. Well, maybe I will swallow some toxins in the Mon, wreck again on the bike and walk most of the run. Who can say?

I will aim to improve my pace in all three, with the most significant improvement coming in the swim, percentage-wise. My front dérailleur is working now, so I may save 30 seconds on the bike. I was climbing like Indurain this week, so who knows what might happen. I hope I get enough sleep.
