All I'm saying is I have found my pace. Through these last few days, I believe I have determined why I blew the swim at the Moose, and it was primarily because I was sprinting. Dumb. But I really had only swum twice in the wetsuit before the race, so I was unclear on how fast I should go, and all the race-day excitement got to me and I went out like a crazy man.
I think if I can control my urge to go too fast, I will surprise people and myself. I was so looking forward to the swim and it ended up screwing up my whole race. I will consider that lesson learned, and maintain a comfortable heart-rate while using my long kettlebell arms (as Matt called them) to propel me at a snappy pace and hopefully not embarrass myself by having two successive waves pass me. No, not this time.

So what's the secret,..... I'd like to learn too!!
I'm somewhat afraid to know, but it doesn't seem to involve an invention this time.
The secret is patience.
And the wetsuit, and pacing.

I hear that...I'm still waiting to have that "got it!" moment. Congrats on your discovery.
