newbie looks forward to mooseman 08

Hey folks:
Wanted to introduce myself , I'm Ruth a friend of Matt's and after hearing Matt talk so excitedly about all the racing he's been doing I decided to start training for Mooseman '08.
I only plan to do the swimming portion (enough for me!) My goal is to finish without harming anyone or myself for that matter, to NOT drown in the middle of the lake and try to get down to a mile in 50 minutes (now I swim a leisurely hour and a half mile.) So I look forward to tips and advice and maybe I can enlighten somebody too as I go on this journey. Best of luck to all of us.
So far I have learned this: Breathe in the mouth- out the nose. Close that mouth underwater!
Best advice I've gotten in my strokes mechanics class. Who knew?

Was it his DNF in the Patriot's tri that made you decide? I'm not sure if that wound has healed enough to jab him about, so if he gets upset please disregard.

We had an awesome time at the Tango and we can't wait for the Mooseman.

Glad to have you aboard. I was all for adding you, but Scott F. had some issues:).(I really can't leave him alone today, honest Scott last jab, well at least for a while).

Yeah. I'm over the DNF.
Once I realized I just need to get one of those "Tom Tom" GPS direction systems attached to the bike....

Despite Craig's rough exterior, he's really a nice guy once you get to know him ... maybe I'll get to know him someday too. For my part, welcome to the blog. I'm also a newbie and am running my first race in just under a week. Good luck with your training!
