Pushed too hard

I keep thinking that a big key to improving is better core strength and weight training. Yet I haven't really done much about it.
Well I've got a very mild case of what the guy in this link had.
hip adductor
Pectineus
I'm not in pain the way these guys are/were. I'm just noticing that something is going on and I don't want it to turn into a big problem.
Exercises
Stretches
I was impressed with the site so I figured I'd post them here.

Wondering how much stretching you were doing before your runs and after. I know two years ago when I started running hard, my Quads and Hamstrings constantly felt tight. I even had to walk a workout because of my quad, I was two miles from home. Locked up real good, made me late getting home, made me late getting ready for the evening, which leads to a saying Happy wife, Happy life.

I do not think I had what you have, but the Charlie horse in my leg lasted two days, so I took it easy for about two weeks.

I try to do 25 jumping jacks and do some hamstring and quad stretches before I run. The jumping jacks is to warm the body up. When I am done running I do more stretches. I found that being warmed up before stretching is the best way; otherwise, I seem to still be very tight.

Typically I stretch, Do a light walk/jog warmup for 5-10 minutes. Stretch again (now that I'm warmed up it's a much better stretch), then I do my workout run. Stretch again after the workout. I do a bit more in my post stretch stuff. I do some yoga strength poses at this time.
My current thought regarding this problem was my lack of knowledge of good Quad/adductor stretches.
That website I posted has a bunch of good stretches and exercises. Sadly I'm such an inflexible person, I know it's going to take me awhile to "learn" how to do them well to make them effective. Fortunately there is plenty of time.
