Spirit of Morgantown

Got an email from them today. They are definitely responding to the problems reported.

* New swim exit next to transition area (just 30 meters from the TA entrance)
* New swim course (keeping well north of the lock)
* New bike courses on smooth roads (totally new routes and roads)
* New single lap 13.1 mile run course for the half iron
* New earlier start times with the half iron going first at 7:00am

Not that it matters for me. I believe it's scheduled to be the day after the Tango.

Changed the name back the Mountaneer. Much better name, that Spirit crap had no real feel for Morgantown.

That blows it is the day after the Tango, for me. That may change plans or I got a whole lot of work to do in one weekend.

I am not committed to anything this year anyways. The Tango is always a go until you tell me stop.

The Tango is great because we all are in the same place at the same time. That alone will keep me going back. It's also a fun variation to the season.

Philadelphia Triathlon and NJ State are 2 other triathlons I'm considering for next season. NJ State is close to my house. Philly is probably 90 minutes or more.

Just throwing that out there.

Tango rocks!

Craig--as long as you Tango, Jerry will want to canoe with you. He had such a great time with you guys that day. It's like a mini-reunion every year. "Egg beater man" is working diligently to further increase his upper body strength. He's addicted to his new workouts!

At the moment, I'm with Craig on the "no commitment" list. I'm just not feelin' it right now. Gotta get the dissertation rolling and that's taking all my cognitive effort, plus some of my physical. I haven't figured out if thinking harder actually makes my brain more tired, but it sure feels like it. Sometimes (let's make that lots of times) I just want to be the guy who walks around town picking up litter. I'm trying to at least do a little walking every day, but even that doesn't always pan out.

I start my new job tomorrow, so I'm sure things will only get more exciting!

One big accomplishment per year is sufficient. Sure, some guys can rack up several, but I will be satisfied with one. I don't think a PR in a tri is in the cards for next year. Academic accomplishment is going to take precedence in the coming year. This is not to say that I will even accomplish one academic achievement, but I have to focus on that. That is my full-iron right now. It might be a long race.
