Green Mountain Marathon

Completed the Green Mountain marathon (South Hero Island, VT) last Sunday in 3:30:33. The fastest I've done in 7 years. A good run. Johnson was 3:29, Martin 3:57 or 58, Brad 4:00.

That equals 16 states and 20 total marathons for me. At some point next spring I need to shift into biking and swimming mode too.

Nice work Jim. Did Johnson start behind you, then finish along side of you again?
Marty make it through the night post race, without the massive leg cramps?

It's too bad you don't have access to a group swim of some sort. I know you aren't looking forward to that part of your IMOO preparations.

Ha,.. nice. No it was a small race. Chris and I ran from 3 to 18 or 19 together and then I followed him the rest of the way in. We started at the same time and he was 1:20 ahead at the finish. 33 seconds of that was in mile 25. He handled the hill there better than I did.

Marty had a little hypothermia post race but did well. He cut almost a half hour off of the new jersey time.

I have confidence for the swim ,... although I am not looking forward to it. I really need saddle time in that my swim will take 2 hours, but the bike will probably be 7 hours or more. I hope less, .....and the run,... I plan on putting one foot in front of the other.

Congrats on another great run Jim! Very impressive!
Good Luck with your IMOO training. I'm putting in an early prediction of under 2 hours for the swim. Pool vs bike trainer in the winter months?? That's a toss up. May make the pool seem more inviting! Ha! Although cranking up the tunes &rocking out on the trainer can be awesome!

I agree Genine. And I hope I can break 2 hours. I think it is possible to hit 1:40 if the trainer goes well and I get some open water swim time in.

Team up with Jerry and Michelle next summer and swim the Tango Course with them kayaking a few times.
